Our Story

“Small Acts Of Kindness That Leave A Lasting Impact”

Helping Hands was an initiative of the Civic Champs Foundation founded to mitigate the challenges faced by elderly and high-risk members of the Bloomington community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Helping Hands connected individuals with volunteers in the Bloomington community to complete tasks such as grocery delivery, pharmacy pickups, and more. Today, our focus has shifted to the HungerTech project although our mission remains the same: to connect the Bloomington community and promote acts of kindness. We are excited to see the lasting impact that the HungerTech project will have on eliminating food insecurity.

“Working with Helping Hands has been a pleasure. Volunteers are extremely helpful, upbeat, responsive, and generous with their time. I’m very grateful to have found them as a resource for community help. I highly recommend their organization.”
